This year, Ithaca Public Education Initiative (IPEI) made 61 grants totaling $51,124!

For 20 years, IPEI has recognized the key role that ICSD teachers and staff play by empowering them with grants so they can innovate while connecting school and community. These connections have been shown to enhance education for all students and to increase student engagement.

IPEI is also part of the Kids Discover the Trail! collaboration; serves as the umbrella organization for its affiliates, Fine Arts Booster Group and IthacaSTEM Advocates; and manages awards supported by its designated special funds. With the end of the school year coming to a close, a gift to IPEI is an excellent way to say thank you to that special teacher or staff member. A message will be sent to the person recognized by your gift(s). Retirements are also excellent times for such tributes.

In addition, consider donating your time and talent by volunteering for IPEI next year.

According to IPEI’s Executive Director Steve Manley, “Ithaca’s school district is home to teachers who crave the connections between their students and Ithaca’s community and who seek out exciting ways to make learning meaningful for their classes.

Improving classroom education improves the overall life of a community, and I am proud to share our work with you through our website, newsletters, and social media.

IPEI connects Ithaca’s school district with a generous and involved community. Supporting IPEI makes you a part of this work and its successful outcomes. Thank you.”
