Executive Director search 2023

The Board of Directors of the Ithaca Public Education Initiative (IPEI) is seeking an individual to serve as Executive Director, leading the organization’s efforts to support innovation, inclusion, and excellence in teaching and learning in the Ithaca City School District (ICSD).

As a leading local grant maker to Ithaca’s local teachers, IPEI has a compelling history, a track record of excellence, a diverse and supportive constituency, and a foundation of operational effectiveness.  IPEI’s next Executive Director must leverage these strengths to advance the organization’s visibility and impact in the community. IPEI annually makes funding available to teachers, staff and students in Ithaca’s 12 schools, alongside supporting innovative and engaging projects, programs, and clubs via our affiliate organizations and collaborators.

The Executive Director will provide overall organizational leadership, and guide the efforts of an engaged volunteer board and active committees.  The Executive Director will balance time effectively between being externally focused: on relationship development, fundraising and community engagement; and internally focused: day-to-day operations, program and fiscal management, and volunteer coordination.
