IPEI Community Engagement and Collaborations Programs
The Community Engagement Program is designed to increase the public's awareness of the importance of community involvement in and support for our public schools by encouraging partnerships and providing a vehicle through which the community can connect with our schools. A series of public events, an increased public relations effort and a community fundraising campaign form the core of this program. Our most recent effort was the "Report to the Community" brochure which was mailed to 1500 residents in November 2004 with 3500 copies available in public places and on our website. Our current campaign runs through June 30, 2005.
Our Collaborations Program promotes collaborative and cooperative planning and programming between schools and community organizations to address priority needs. The abundance of diverse resources in the Ithaca area offer many opportunities to enhance and enrich the lives of our students and teachers. Many community groups currently work independently to help our schools in a wide variety of areas. IPEI believes that by working together we can stretch our resources and maximize the benefit to education in our community. We have a number of projects currently underway and welcome new ideas.
