Superintendent Brown Presented “Vision for ICSD�? April 28
The Ithaca Parent Teacher Association Council (PTA Council) and Ithaca Public Education Initiative (IPEI) co-hosted a multi-media presentation by the new Ithaca City School District (ICSD) Superintendent of Schools Dr. Luvelle Brown on Thursday, April 28: "Vision for ICSD: Strategic Approach to Engaging Today’s and Tomorrow’s Learners".
Brown addressed: “What is it that we want students to learn? How will we know if they've learned it? What will we do when they know it or do not?�? While modeling contemporary instructional strategies, he will engage community stakeholders in thought-provoking dialogue related to key district initiatives, continuous improvement strategies, and accountability measures. He will highlight key initiatives and district work such as implementing Professional Learning Communities, developing a Curricular Framework, building and supporting human capital, undertaking strategic planning, and fostering “balanced scorecards�?.
