IPEI Initiatives
In keeping with our mission of integrating the extensive resources of this community into the education of our school district's students, IPEI strives to make connections whenever possible. These connections include convening various groups and individuals inside and outside the district to engage them as new ideas and activities are considered. Ideas and activities are often implemented by community organizations and/or the school district with IPEI's encouragement.
IPEI's involvement may take the form of an IPEI board member's participation as in the ICSD Transportation Working Group, the ICSD Equity and Inclusion Leadership Council, and Family and Student Involvement Committee. It may also take the form of providing help and advice at the beginning of the Ithaca Youth Bureau's College Discovery Program and the Cayuga Medical Center's SCRUBS Club at DeWitt Middle School.
"Initiatives" fall outside the structure of IPEI standing committees and established programs. We encourage community conversation and collaboration whenever needs are identified.
